Where does a semi-finalist in the Miss Teen Canada Pageant go after she fails to nab the crown? To Hollywood, of course! Ontario native Starr Andreeff split her time between her home country and the United States, becoming a regular screamer on the horror-film circuit. She made her debut as Irene in Canada’s comedy scare Skullduggery (1983), then turned up as Melissa on a 1984 episode of The Facts of Life—which is pretty much how her career has gone ever since: a little horror, a little TV, then back and forth again. She nabbed a recurring gig as Sabrina Cross in the primetime drama Falcon Crest in 1986, then did Alice in Ghoulies II(1987). She was Priscilla in The Golden Girls in 1987, then Camille in the psycho-killer horror Out of the Dark(1988) (Mr. Skin still says anything with a clown on the poster is hella scary). She guested as Melanie on She’s the Sheriff in 1988, with Suzanne Sommers as said sheriff, then picked up the roles of Sue in The Terror Within (1989) and Jodi Hurtz in Dance of the Damned (1989). You see now, right? Other notable TV appearances include a 21-episode arc as Jessica Holmes on General Hospital from 1992-1993, a role as a scrub nurse in the HBO’s movie Breast Men in 1997, and bit parts in The New Monkees, They Came from Outer Space, Tropical Heat, and Mike Hammer, Private Eye. Starr’s screams continued in notable fright fests like Syngenor (1990), where she had the lead role of Susan Valentine; as Glenda in Scanner Cop (1994); Amityville: Dollhouse (1996), playing Claire; as Corri in Club Vampire (1997); and Iris in Vampire Journals(1997). Oh, and she also gets naked in a several of them!
